HERE'S your chance to catch popular Indonesian rock group Dewa 19 in Konsert Dewa 19 — Malaysian Rock Tour 2007. The group's tour started last Saturday with performances in Kota Kinabalu and Kucing. It is performing at Komtar-Geodesic Dome in Penang today, MBJB Indoor Stadium in Johor Baru tomorrow and Stadium Negara in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday. Formed in Surabaya, Indonesia, in 1986, the band played at small gigs and eventually made a name for itself in the local circuit. It eventually released its first album Dewa 19 in 1992. It became a surprise hit and the group went on to record its second album Format Masa Depan (1994). The band comprises Ahmad Dhani (keyboard, guitar and vocals), Once (vocals), Andra Ramadan (guitar), Yuke (bass) and Tyo Nugros (drums). Dhani and Andra are the only original members of Dewa 19, but the group has remained successful. It has already released 11 albums, including compilation and live albums. For its concert in Kuala Lumpur, Dewa 19 is collaborating with local artistes. They are nasyid group Rabbani, rock queen Ella, jazz queen Sheila Majid and rock group Jinbara. Indonesian artistes Dewi Dewi and Mulan Kwok are performing as well. Expect Dewa 19 to perform its popular songs including Aku Milikmu, Kirana, Dua Sejoli, Aku Disini Untukmu, Separuh Nafas, Pangeran Cinta, and Laskar Cinta.
